RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Friday reported 4,301 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours as the daily confirmed COVID-19 infections exceeded 4,000 for the sixth straight day, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. The latest figures bring the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 150,292. The ministry also announced 45 deaths, the second-highest single-day toll, taking the total number of virus-related fatalities in the country to 1,184. Meanwhile, the ministry said 1,849 more patients have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 95,764. Riyadh recorded the highest number of infections with 1,091 new cases followed by Hufof, Jeddah, Makkah reporting 430, 384, 305 infections respectively. The city of Taif also saw a spike in the COVID-19 cases as it recorded 213 new infections.
