RIYADH – The International Council on Archives (ICA) in Paris has included the name of the King Abdul Aziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) in Saudi Arabia among the international scientific institutions related to the International Corporation on the Map of Virtual Interactive Activity during the week to celebrate the World Archives Day 2020, which fell on last Tuesday, June 9. This is the second honor from the ICA — the international umbrella foundation for archives in the countries of the world —to King Abdulaziz Darah in a month. The ICA had highlighted Darah's name in the honor list of research institutions and publishing houses, which supported compliance with staying home due to the novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic by carrying out a set of virtual educational and specialized lectures. These lectures were followed by the public and a wide audience of specialists from within and outside the Kingdom. The scheme was carried out with the participation of well-known Saudi and Arab figures, covering a wide range of topics. The Darah also allowed the departments in charge of its archives, including its ancient history references and its scientific publications and services to continue the research and studies movement without disruption, making it the subject of praise by all, at the forefront of which is the International Council on Archives in Paris. It is noteworthy that the Darah Forum is continuing to broadcast its lectures on the Darah Channel on YouTube and is benefitting from the video communication program.
