CAIRO — Saudi Arabia participated in the 48th Cairo International Book Fair that was recently held in Cairo with over 5,000 books by Saudi publishers. The Kingdom's booth at the fair, stretched over 1,500 sq. meters and included the most recent editions of thousands of books from Saudi universities and libraries, including the Ministry of Education, King Abdul Aziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah), King Fahd Quran Printing Complex, King Abdul Aziz Public Library and King Fahd National Library. The books covered various subjects including scientific, cultural, literary and child affairs. The booth also offered several cultural seminars and lectures. The 48th Cairo International Book Fair featured 670 publishers from 35 countries, including Morocco as guest of honor. Despite a number of Egyptian publishers refusing to participate, many books were released by Egyptian writers and organizers reported huge crowds.
