In line with a recent trend, Kuwait has been recording more daily recoveries from coronavirus than new infections. During the past 24 hours, the country recorded 834 recoveries and 514 new infections, the health ministry announced on Saturday. The new infections were detected after 2,159 tests were administered, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 9,295, health ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said. The latest cases involve 281 Kuwaiti citizens, 63 residents from India, 45 from Egypt and 31 from Bangladesh, the spokesman said. The death toll has reached 289 after four people who had previously tested positive for the virus died due to complications. The country's recovery total has reached 25,882 as of June 13. Kuwait recorded its highest number of daily new cases on May 29 when 1,072 people tested positive. — Agencies
