RIYADH — Netflix, the world's leading streaming entertainment service, on Monday unveiled the official trailer for "Whispers", the first Saudi thriller in a line-up of Khaleeji and Saudi titles available on Netflix. The new Netflix Licensed Original will debut on Thursday (June 11) to more than 183 million users in 190 countries and will be subtitled in over 30 languages along with the Arabic audio description for people who are blind or visually impaired. From the varying perspectives of the series' protagonists, the story unfolds as they navigate challenges brought on by family feuds and the struggles of the business world. Written by Roolan Hassan and directed by Saudi director, Hana Alomair, the series features talents including Abdul Mohsen Alnimer, Shaimaa Al Fadl, Mysoon Alruwaily, Elham Ali, Nada Tawhid, Norah Alanbar, and Leila Arabi, in addition to actors Ali Al Sharif, Osama Al Qass, and Mohamed Ali. Earlier in February, Netflix also launched six award-winning Saudi Arabian short films that tackled thought-provoking social issues. Released under the name "Six Windows in the Desert," the movies shed light on several universal themes, including social taboos, love, and extremism.
