RIYADH — The Public Prosecution has ordered the arrest of a Saudi citizen for abusing an expatriate, Saudi Press Agency reported early Tuesday quoting an official source at the Public Prosecution. According to the report, the action was taken against the accused after the Monitoring Center of the Public Prosecution forensically examined a video clip doing rounds on social media purporting to show him verbally abusing a non-Arabic speaking expatriate of an Asian origin on the pretext of inviting him to Islam. The source asserted that the Public Prosecution is following with interest all that might impinge upon the rights of citizens and residents, including undermining their dignity and legitimate freedoms, irrespective of the pretexts for that attack, and the source indicated that the Public Prosecution is doing what is necessary in accordance with its statutory powers.
