HFZA launches disinfection drive to sterilize its facilities
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 19 - 04 - 2020

The Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) has launched a disinfection drive to sterilize all its facilities in cooperation with the Sharjah Environment Company (Bee'ah).
The sterilization campaign covered the authority's head office, Hamriyah Port Office and Hamriyah Port Customs Office as well as main and service roads, various internal and external facilities and offices, using highly effective disinfectants, according to the highest international standards.
The drive comes in line with HFZA's precautionary measures being taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and to safeguard the health and safety of its employees and customers. It is also in line with the National Disinfection Program.
Intensified Efforts
Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, director of HFZA, stressed that the authority has intensified its sterilization efforts in support of the ongoing measures taken by the UAE especially by the government of Sharjah to limit the spread of COVID-19.
"We, at HFZA, are working as part of our country's comprehensive system in the face of this pandemic, which entails utmost efforts to ensure the health and safety of everyone. We are committed to be among the frontliners to confront and prevent the spread of the virus. The new drive that we recently launched comes in line with the national sterilization program and was carried out in cooperation with our strategic partners," Al Mazrouei said.
Latest Techniques
Al Mazrouei emphasized that since the outbreak of COVID-19, HFZA has taken several pre-emptive measures to ensure the safety of its employees and customers.
"We have implemented the partial remote work system for certain departments and employees and promoted our smart platforms using the latest technologies to offer customer-friendly and accessible services. We have also introduced a host of online services that would speed up the implementation of procedures," he said.
"We have taken advantage of the sophisticated system that we have been working on to develop over the past years to render world-class services to all investors and customers, Al Mazrouei added.
Other precautionary measures taken by HFZA include the suspension of work at customer services centers, where customers can no longer visit these centers to process their transaction, instead they have to use smart platforms to do so.
It has also suspended fingerprint biometric attendance systems, offered diverse services through the smart app and call centers, placed sanitizers in corridors, entry points and used medical devices to measure the temperature of visitors at the entrances of all buildings. — SG
