SPA monitors, documents abundance of commodities and Ramadan needs in Makkah
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 19 - 04 - 2020

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) cameramen, via their continuous field tours of the hypermarkets, supermarkets and supply goods shops in the holy capital, have confirmed and documented the availability of all the Ramadan consumer and supply goods, with the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan drawing near, SPA said Sunday.
They confirmed the availability of foodstuffs and consumer goods of all kinds in abundance, meaning that the food reserve is reassuring.
The supervision and inspection teams of the Ministry of Commerce branch in the holy capital are carrying out successive field inspection tours to ensure there are no price hikes, abundance of the foodstuff and consumer goods reserve, continuous flow of commodities to the markets and sales outlets in the markets.
The staff and workers of the hypermarkets, supermarkets and supply goods shops are working hard around the clock to ensure availability of all the needs of the citizens and residents, including all brands of foodstuffs, and consumer commodities and requirements of high quality and affordable by all.
They also make sure that all the services, and precautionary and preventive measures to curb any transmission or spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection are in place, by ensuring the safety measures have been taken by these hypermarkets, supermarkets and supply goods shops.
These include providing shoppers with sanitizers, facemasks and gloves; and sterilizing shopping trolleys, surfaces, floors and shelves.
Supervision and inspection teams of the Commerce Ministry branch in the holy capital are carrying out successive field inspection tours of the markets to maintain prices at affordable levels, ensure abundance of foodstuffs and consumer goods of all brands of high quality but affordable prices.
