The University of Jeddah, represented by the College of Sports Sciences, signed a cooperation agreement with the Saudi Sport Hub in Jeddah Governorate on Thursday. This aims to serve the sports system in building a community of business leaders within universities, in addition to working relationships and transferring student ideas to emerging companies, as the agreement seeks to exchange visits in sports science, participation, seminars and cooperation in the establishment of competitions, conferences and scientific forums in the field of sports. The cooperation agreement was signed by Dr. Akram Al-Aqbi, dean of the College of Sports Sciences and chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Sports Incubator, Dr. Talal Ahmed Al-Maghrabi. After signing the agreement, Dr. Al-Aqabi explained that there is a great interest in the concept of sport and its importance for all, and he said that we will work together to develop programs and establish activities that help establish interest in sports as subjects with a scientific method that enables the student to obtain higher university degrees, contributing to achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030. He added that the college's interest in sports studies and educational curricula in the college will contribute to the production of specialized and educated cadres of higher education, consolidating the concept of sport for both sexes. The agreement will be based on exchanging scientific visits and specialized partnerships in the sports field in addition to cooperation in building a community of women entrepreneurs and women entrepreneurs in the sports field, transforming ideas into emerging projects and companies within the sports system and holding competitions, conferences and forums, and participating in activities that are in the interest of both sides. Chairman of the Saudi Sports Incubator Dr. Al-Maghrabi thanked Jeddah University for its support to the incubator, and their interest in signing the joint work agreement between the two sides, and that the incubator will work to benefit from it and work to integrate into the various programs and activities. Dr. Al-Maghrabi emphasized that the Saudi Sports Incubator launched 8 SportTech MeetUp initiatives that aim to hold sessions to build a community of sports entrepreneurs and the Sports and Humanity initiative to launch programs aimed at changing behavior and role models through sport, the Sports Hackathon Initiative, the Best Sports Innovation Award initiative, the Saudi Forum Forum for startups Sports, the initiative of the best sports startup, the Young Sports Entrepreneurs initiative to prepare future youth for the sports system, and the launch of the Saudi Sport Think Tank to do research and make recommendations regarding the sports system. Dr. Amin Bin Ali Al-Haznawi, undersecretary of the College of Sports Science for Sustainable Development, Dr. Mazen Al-Ghamdi, undersecretary of the College of Sports Science, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Hazmi, faculty member, Department of Physical Activity and Dr. Hashem Al-Nemer, supervisor of the Creativity and Entrepreneurship Center attended the signing of the agreement from the university side.
