The Muslim World League (MWL) expressed its full support for the temporary suspension of entry to Kingdom for Umrah pilgrims as well as visitors to the Prophet's Mosque as part of precautionary measures taken by Saudi Arabia to prevent the coronavirus from spreading. Speaking on behalf of the scholars and intellectuals of the Islamic world, MWL Secretary-General Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa called the temporary preventive measure a legal duty that the texts of Sharia attest. "As well as the importance of adherence to international standards in this regard, and that the decision confirms the Kingdom's keenness on the safety of Umrah performers and visitors from the risk of this spreading disease, Al-Issa added in an official statement." Dr. Al-Issa thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman the Crown Prince for this temporary precautionary measure aimed at the safety of Umrah performers and visitors in the face of the rapid spread of this disease that has become a threat to global health. He appreciated the efforts of Saudi Arabia to serve the visitors of the Two Holy Mosques and take care of them safely and healthily while facilitating the performance of their rituals in comfort and reassurance. – SPA
