MAKKAH — A bus carrying 49 Jordanian Umrah visitors crashed into a pedestrian bridge at Muzdalifah on Tuesday, killing three people and injuring 17 others. The accident was attended by security bodies, nine ambulance teams and four rapid intervention teams. The injured were transferred to various Makkah hospitals. Spokesman for Makkah Traffic Police Lt. Col. Fawzy Al-Ansari said the accident occurred as the bus was returning from Arafat to Muzdalifah on a sight-seeing trip. Field supervisor Ghazi Al-Shanbari said two of the injured were airlifted to Hera Hospital and the rest were transported by road to different hospitals in the city. Investigations into the cause of the accident were still ongoing.
