Al-Sudais to lead Tarawih prayers
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 30 - 08 - 2008

ur-Rahman Al-Sudais, Imam of the Grand Mosque, will lead the Tarawih prayers this Ramadan as usual, Sheikh Saleh Bin Abd-ur-Raman Al-Hussein, chief of the Presidency of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, told Saudi Gazette.
This has virtually put a stop to all the rumors circulating on some websites that he has been barred from leading the prayers. “They are only rumors and nothing is further from the truth,” Al-Hussein said.
Dr. Al-Sudais is on annual leave and will be present on the first day of Ramadan to lead the prayers as usual. Apart from Dr. Al-Sudais, the Tarawih prayers will be led by Dr. Saud As-Sheraim, Al-Sheikh Abdullah Al-Johni and Al-Sheikh Maher Bin Hamad Al-Moaiqli, Al-Hussein said.
Dr. Saleh Bin Humeid President of the Shoura Council, will lead the Fajr prayers, Dr. Osama Bin Al-Khyyat, the Dhuhr prayers, Dr. Khalid Bin Al-Ghamdi the Asr prayer and Al-Sheikh Saleh Al-Talib the Isha prayers. This arrangement will continue during the whole month of Ramadan, Al-Hussein added.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowment, Call and Guidance has announced the live telecast of Traweeh prayers from the Holy Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet's Mosque in Madina, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.
The prayers will be telecast in English translation from the Holy Mosque in Makkah on Saudi Ch1 and in French from the Prophet's Mosque in Madina on Ch2.
It is expected that 40 Islamic and Arab TV satellite channels will transmit the Traweeh prayers from Makkah and Madina. __
