DAMMAM — The East Dammam municipality has closed down 37 car rental agencies, and fined them SR88,500. The municipality head, Ziyad Al-Suwaidan, said the closure was the result of a campaign by the municipality to monitor the compliance of businesses with regulations. The car rental agencies that were closed did not have own parking space and violated regulations by parking their cars on the streets which caused traffic congestion in the area. The campaign will continue year round to deal with such violations.
