Ahmad Al-Hasni Okaz/Saudi Gazette MAKKAH — Al-Omrah municipality in Makkah removed 3,000 illegal structures that were in violation of the city's zoning laws in Al-Nawariyah neighborhood. The municipality conducts surprise raids on a regular basis to different neighborhoods to protect public property and ensure that no zoning violations have been committed. During the municipality's latest campaign, six structures were removed because they were built on public land. The head of the municipality warned citizens to not plant trees on public land and said trees that encroach on roads or other public places will be uprooted and violators fined.
