RIYADH — Minister of Media Turki Al-Shabanah attended on Sunday an event to honor winners of the Media Excellence Award 2019, conducted on the occasion of the Kingdom's 89th National Day. The minister distributed the prizes to the winners in 10 branches in the ceremony organized by the Ministry of Media. In the best newspaper coverage, the award of excellence was bagged by Al-Watan newspaper and the minister presented the award to its Editor-in-Chief Dr. Othman Al-Seeni. The award for article goes to Iman Al-Shammari for her article titled ""September 23 for more than 33 million people." In the category of private and nonprofit video field, Maestro Pizza won the prize. In the government-sponsored media initiative, the Saudi Federation for Cyber Security, Programming and Drones was awarded the prize. In television product, the Radio and Television Commission received the award for its film "Soldier Majed Al-Qarni." In the photography, Dhafer Al-Shahri has bagged the prize. In the category of national poem, well-known poet Dr. Abdullah Al-Zahrani won the award for his song titled "My country under the shadows of palms", and in the national song category, the General Entertainment Authority won the prize for its work "Our scheduled time is 2030." The jury withheld the award in the creative material in the new media field.
