Okaz/Saudi Gazette MADINAH — Hameed, suffering from depression and going through hard times, has been living in a deserted grocery since the beginning of the year. The psychic was finally shifted to a hospital by an integrated team of home doctors, his family said. The doctors took him to Al-Miqat Hospital where he will be treated for bruises and fractures he suffered when he was hit by a speeding car in June. The doctors said after initial treatment, they will consider the possibility of shifting him to a psychiatrist hospital or a rehabilitation center. Dr. Abdul Hameed Al-Subhi, director of the department of health affairs in Madinah, said a team of home doctors has been asked to examine him, provide him with health care and follow up his case. A source at the branch of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development said Hameed was a beneficiary of social security assistance at which he was registered about 10 years back for two years after which his monthly salary was stopped because he did not report back to them. Hameed's brother said he decided to accommodate him at an old grocery building because he was no longer able to serve him. "Because Hameed was causing trouble at home, I decided to look for a place for him. I found an old and deserted grocery building away from my home to which I took him," he said. The brother said Hameed is an orphan and is unable to serve himself. "I used to visit him every day to feed and clean him," he added. The brother said he addressed the social development and the department of health affairs asking them to provide Hameed with accommodation but they both refused without giving him any reasons. The brother asked for taking Hameed to a psychiatrist hospital or a rehabilitation center without obliging him to receive him afterwards because he would not be able to serve him or manage his life any more.
