The full day event witnessed the presentation of various activities by the hotel employees such as cultural shows and speeches and culminated by giving of prizes. “We start first by looking after our employees in order for them to provide the best service to our clients,” said Tariq Dowaidar, the hotel's general manager. He added that employees are focused on the hotel's guests throughout the year and that the time allocated to honor them is well deserved. Ayoub Hussein, chef at the hotel's El Mondo restaurant, was surprised to win the grand prize: a brand new car. During the event, each cultural group put on a performance denoting the traditions and heritage of their respective countries to a panel of judges who graded each performance. The InterContinental Hotel's Group (IHG) vision, formally titled “We Will Win,” is reportedly aimed at providing guests with their best service standards. The focus on staff members during this event is part of the “We Will Win” strategy, where employees dine from the guests' cuisine and are treated to various entertainment at the hotel's Buraidah Hall every year. “It's important for them to feel happy and recognized,” Dowaidar added. “If we look after them, they will look after our guests,” he added.
