Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Pakistan Consulate in Jeddah observed Kashmir Solidarity Day on Friday to express solidarity with the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir and to show their resolve to provide all political, diplomatic and moral assistance to the Kashmiri people. The day was observed under the instructions of the prime minister of Pakistan. Pakistan's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Raja Ali Ejaz, consulate officials and members of the Pakistani community participated in the event. The event began with recitation of Holy Qur'an followed by national anthems of Pakistan and then Kashmiri and Pakistani patriotic songs. The participants were carrying flags of Pakistan and Kashmir showing their affinity to Kashmiri brothers and sisters. Ambassador Raja Ali Ejaz said: "Our Kashmiri brothers are in distress and we are here to express solidarity with them. We stand united with them and feel the pain and trauma which they are going through. Pakistan will provide all diplomatic, moral and political support to them," he added. "In expression of our unity to their cause, we have gathered here today," he said. This day is a manifestation of the resolve that we will not remain silent until the Kashmiris achieve their right of self-determination. Consul Ms Fozia Fayyaz Ahmed conducted the event.
