RIYADH — About six million students in all the 13 administrative regions of the Kingdom will go back to schools tomorrow (Sunday) after a lengthy summer vacation of about four months which began on May 5. The departments of education for boys and girls all over the Kingdom have completed their arrangements for the resumption of the studies. In Jeddah, more than 600,000 boy and girl students will be going to schools while in Madinah more than 300,000 of them will be attending as many as 1,900 schools in all the educational levels. According to local daily Al-Madina, there are 11,970 male and 15,358 female teachers in the Prophet's City. Some 21 school buildings were recently opened in Madinah including eight which will be receiving students for the first time. There are also 66 schools for early childhood. The schools which have completed their readiness to receive the students consist of primary, intermediate and secondary institutions in addition to schools for adult education, illiteracy, Qur'an memorization, kindergartens and special education institutes.
