MUVI Cinemas opens its doors to audiences in Jeddah
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 17 - 08 - 2019

Muvi Cinemas, the first nationally-owned and operated cinema in the Kingdom, opened its doors yesterday and welcomed its first audiences at Mall of Arabia in Jeddah. This Saudi cinema is operated by Next Generation Company and is filled with outstanding Saudi talents.
Turki bin Abdullah Al Shabanah, Minister of Media, inaugurated the first branch of the cinema chain Muvi Cinemas at the Mall of Arabia in Jeddah last Tuesday.
The first Muvi cinema in Jeddah accommodates 1,950 guests in 15 screens and offers 21 seats for audiences with special needs. Muvi offers many first-of-its-kind experiences in the Kingdom, including the use of Barco's high-resolution laser projectors to offer the ultimate visual quality on the largest screen in the Kingdom, as well as the use of the first Dolby Atmos surround system in the Kingdom for the best-in-class audio experience for blockbusters. These technologies can be enjoyed at the Xperience screen, which also offers seats with smartphone chargers and extended legroom.
Another new experience for audiences can be enjoyed at ScreenX, which offers a truly immersive blockbuster experience for those who do not want to just watch a film, as several multi projectors work in tandem to project a realistic panoramic image on the main screen and on the side walls simultaneously, so that audience feel as if they are right the movie.
For those looking for the ultimate luxury cinema experience, Muvi SUITES offers a special experience with the best amenities, audio and visual experiences and a private lounge. These suites feature luxurious, fully-motorized reclining leather chairs with footrest to sit back and relax. The most-luxurious suites are designed to ensure uninterrupted viewing pleasure on the large screen. Audiences can meet their family and friends at the exclusive private lounge for snacks before the movie starts or have their meals in the comfortable chairs with sliding tables. Muvi SUITES accommodates 102 guests in 3 screens.
Muvi will soon launch the Junior screen, in which children enter a special entertainment room to express their creative ideas and drawings, dive into the safe ball pit and then enter the main screen through a special "slide" to watch their movie. Encouraged by Muvi for their innovations, their drawings will be displayed on the big screen before each show. Junior offers comfortable and colorful seating for children, with the possibility of hosting family events.
Muvi Cinemas' management confirmed an expansion plan to launch 250 new screens across the Kingdom within 24 months to offer unique and exclusive experiences for all guests, and recruit and train more local talents. — SG
