DAMMAM – The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Eastern Province (Asharqia Chamber) awarded on Wednesday a contract to build its investment tower at a cost of SR335 million. The 31-story tower will be located next to the building premises of Asharqia on Dammam-Khobar Highway. Abdul Hakim Al-Khalidi, chairman of the board of directors of the chamber, signed the contract with a national company to implement the project within a period of 26 months. Abdulrahman Al-Wabel, secretary-general of the chamber, and members of the board were present at the signing ceremony, the Saudi Press Agency reported. Speaking on the occasion, Al-Khalidi reiterated the board's decision to implement this mega project, which entails the business community's great faith and confidence in the future of the national economy and the vital role played by the business sector in the national development in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. Al-Khalidi pinned high hopes on the Kingdom's investment environment, which he said is fertile, attractive and catering to the aspirations of investors from different sectors. "Asharqia strengthens its position in the business sector so as to emphasize the robustness of the Saudi economy and the attractiveness of the Eastern Province for diversified investments and make it a more attractive place for investors. This would also enhance and diversify sources of income for the chamber to carry out its activities in the interests of the business sector," he added.
