The JCA Summer League kicked off on a high note with wins for Al Burj over Islamabad United, Shawahid over Butt Sports and CH XI over Jeddah Gladiators. The T20 event organized under auspices of Jeddah Cricket Association is played on round robin cum knockout basis with 12 teams divided into 3 Groups. Eight (8) teams qualify for the knockout (top 2 from each Group and 2 wild card). Waqas cracked a superb 65 and was well supported by Atta Muskan (42) to enable Al Burj reach 207 for 8. Later fine bowling in tandem by Hyder (4 for 12) and Khalid (2 for 10) restricted Islamabad United to 103 for 7, to give Al Burj a 104 runs win. Fine batting by Shad (50), Shan (45) and Adnan (47) coupled with contained bowling by Bilal (4 for 28) and Usman (3 for 35) gave Shawahid a 24 run win over Butt Sports. CH XI bowlers Nasir Bajwa (4 for 23) and Farman (2 for 21) bowled a tight length to bundle out Jeddah Gladiators for a paltry 121 and win by 6 wickets, courtesy good knocks from Zaid (33), Afzal (26NO) and Zafar (29NO).
