JEDDAH — Jeddah Season kicked off on Saturday under the motto "The sea and culture", with over 150 local and international activities and events to take place across five main destinations in Jeddah. The Season is expected to attract nearly four million visitors from within the Kingdom and abroad during the 41 days of activities. Jeddah Season will provide opportunities for seasonal jobs and volunteerism for some 20,000 young men and women. Aiming to strengthen economic growth through tourism, Jeddah Season brings together the Ministry of Culture, Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH), the General Sports Authority (GSA), General Entertainment Authority (GEA), General Culture Authority (GCA), Saudi Arabian Maritime Sports Federation, Jeddah Mayoralty, Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), as well as Jeddah Season's strategic partner, Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia). Jeddah Season will be held at five main destinations, including King Abdullah Sports City, Obhur, Historic Jeddah (Al-Balad), Al-Hamra district and Jeddah Waterfront. The objectives include supporting the entrepreneurship sector that comprises many Saudi owners of SMEs, who are interested in availing of partnership opportunities provided by Jeddah Season. The Season will focus on highlighting the development opportunities and shedding light on Saudi Arabia as one of the most magnificent tourist destinations in the world.
