Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — Interior ministers from 21 Arab states will meet here on Wednesday to discuss several vital issues concerning Arab security. An Arab strategy for intellectual security, initiated by Saudi Arabia, will figure high on the agenda of the meeting. Other major topics on the table include the formation of an Arab Supreme Security Committee, establishment of a unified Arab office to combat organized crime in member states, and approval of a draft agreement among Arab states for intellectual security. The ministers will also discuss the ways to support the Palestinian interior ministry. Interior Minister Prince Muhammad Bin Naif will chair the 30th session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, which will be held under the aegis of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah. Representatives of the United Nations, Arab League, Gulf Cooperation Council, Arab Maghreb Union, Naif Arab University for Security Sciences and Arab Police Sports Federation will also attend. Senior officials from the Arab interior ministries concluded a preparatory meeting to put the finishing touches to the agenda of the session. The meeting was chaired by Ahmad Al-Salem, undersecretary at the Saudi Ministry of Interior. Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Saad Al Abdul Karim, legal consultant at the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, said the interior ministers will condemn terror acts in the Arab world in general and the alleged Iranian intervention in Bahrain and Yemen in particular. An awareness exhibition on the major activities and security and technical services being offered by the Ministry of Interior will be held on the sidelines of the conference.
