Saudi Telecom Company (STC) inaugurated, in cooperation with Symantec, the region's largest information security control center to raise security features of STC's systems and applications. The center shall be a nucleus for control, operation and surveillance services rendered to STC and its subsidiaries to ultimately lead to optimization of Security Operations Center through cost-effective services provided to a wide variety of small and medium-scale enterprises. STC Vice President for Information Technology Eng. Omer Abdullah Al Nomany said “the incremental hacking activities facing websites and businesses in the world and the Middle East caused STC to set up this center that shall operate 24 hours a day for monitoring and operating the Middle East's largest telecom network in terms of technologies employed for providing services, solutions and security protection in which STC invested heavily over the past decade. The partnership with Symantec, being one of the world's largest information security outfits, will turn Security Operations Center the best security center in terms of technologies and security facilities used, and shall help contact with specialized international centers for detecting and spotting security threats, support backup procedures and monitor security activities around the clock.
