Okaz/Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Jeddah College of Advertising (JCA), an affiliate of the University of Business and Technology (UBT), held its fourth graduate exhibition on Wednesday and Thursday. Osama Jannadi, rector of UBT, patronized the event in the presence of Ibrahim Mohlab, consuls of Egypt and Germany, and senior officials of the university. Okaz and Saudi Gazette were the media sponsors of the exhibition, in which final projects of 58 students from a batch of 130 students, both male and female, for this year, were showcased. The exhibition provides opportunities for the graduates to connect with the entrepreneurs and senior executives of companies who visit the event to learn closely about the creativity of students in line with the requirements of the labor market. During the event a number of projects were put on display related to advertising, content creation and corporate social responsibility, in addition to real-world projects from business clients. This year's event marked a qualitative leap because of the introduction of Saudi robotics project, as a result of the cooperation between the engineering and advertising colleges. The exhibition was hosted by Bab Rizq Jameel and Leo Burnett Worldwide, representing the International Advertising Agency. These companies offered jobs to a number of students who have proved their skills. For her part, Dr. Haneen Shoaib, dean of JCA, underscored the importance of the exhibition in achieving the strategy of the college to connect students with the employment market and build bridges of communication between the academic and business sectors, and thus facilitating active participation of young people in the labor market.
