Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sarhan, secretary-general of the International Organization for Relief, Welfare and Development (IOR), signed a cooperation agreement with Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, General Supervisor of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) here to distribute a food aid project to support Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh for the total cost of $732,594,13. Around 29,810 food baskets are to be distributed among 119,240 beneficiaries. Weighing 24 kg, the food baskets consist of rice (10 kg), lentils (7 kg), vegetable oil (2 kg). salt (2 kg), and sugar (3 kg). The food is collected in special baskets marked with the logo of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works and distributed to poor Bangladeshi families and families in the Rohanja refugee camps. The project aims at providing life-saving food assistance to Rohingya refugees to augment existing humanitarian interventions and give them an opportunity to buy food to protect lives. The Secretary General of IOR said: "IOR is carrying out such programs to complement longer-term relief and development projects that provide sustainable assistance in improving living conditions of the refugees living in Bangladesh."
