Fatima Muhammad Saudi Gazette JEDDAH —Thirty Japanese companies will participateTuesday in a career day in Tokyo held by the Saudi Cultural Attaché to celebrate the graduation of the first batch of 86 students studying in Japan. Among the group are seven female students who majored in computer science, management, and education while 38 students studied different majors of engineering and the rest finished programs in e-information, economy, applied biology and information. Some Japanese companies said earlier that they were interested in offering jobs to some graduates in their Kingdom's branches and other Arab countries. JGC Corporation said it is ready to hire 40 graduates. High-ranking Saudi and Japanese officials will deliver several speeches. The graduates' speech will be delivered in Japanese by Majed Al-Mousa. In a press statement, Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom Jiro Kodera offered his congratulations to Saudi students who had graduated. He added that the number of Saudi students in Japan has increased thanks to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah's scholarship program. He also thanked the Saudi Minister of Higher Education Khaled Al-Anqari for his efforts to enhance cooperation between academic institutions in both countries. He said the Ministry of Higher Education organizes this event every year and more than 20 Japanese academic institutes take part in the event. This event allows Saudi students to have a good idea about Japanese universities. Ambassador Kodera said: “It also gives me an opportunity to meet Saudi students who studied in Japan. “Many of them work in companies like Aramco and SABIC and have enhanced understandings between Japan and the Kingdom.” He added students who studied in Japan learned the language, culture, lifestyle and traditions of Japanese people. Many Japanese companies interested in opening branches in Arab countries want to attract these students and hire them.
