The third editions of Paperworld Middle East and Playworld Middle East, the co-located trade fairs organized by Epoc Messe Frankfurt, came to a successful close after three busy days of deal making, contract signing and business networking. The strong response from regional trade buyers and leading international brands further highlighted the fact that Paperworld Middle East and Playworld Middle East, in three short years, have become credible business platforms within their respective industry sectors. “Both Paperworld Middle East and Playworld Middle East are events serving industries that see the Middle East as a market of enormous potential,” said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt. “That the exhibitions have garnered tremendous support from international exhibitors despite being new on the scene, not only highlights the significance of the regional market but also the value of these trade fairs as business enablers.” There were more than a few product launches by exhibitors at both exhibitions as well as a range of innovative products and services being showcased for the first time in the region. At Paperworld Middle East, Dutch company Royal Talens had the international launch of their latest range of water mixable oil paints – a world first innovation. Their products proved very popular among trade buyers and will soon be on the shelves of arts & crafts retailers across the region. Organizers reported a noticeable increase in trade buyers looking for prospective suppliers from the African continent at Paperworld Middle East. There was also considerable interest in the dedicated Green Office Area which highlighted recyclable and environmentally friendly products that were available at the fair. Speaking about the initiative earlier, Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad, UAE Minister of Environment and Water, said: “Promoting environmental sustainability is high on our agenda. We encourage initiatives which raise awareness on sustainable products such as the Green Office Area at Paperworld Middle East and encourage everyone to do their part in making the UAE an eco friendly place.” – SG
