Okaz/Saudi Gazette BISHA — Balqis Kazim, the female schoolteacher who survived a fatal traffic accident in Al-Amwah, in the east of Asir province, is getting well after a surgery in her skull on Wednesday, according to her husband Hussain Al-Abdul Azeem. The woman was seriously injured in a car accident on Riyadh-Khamis Mushayt Road last Sunday. Her infant son, two other schoolteachers, Iman Al-Zufairy and Safiyyah Al-Ghamdi, and their driver died in the accident. Balqis's another son, five-year-old Muhammad, who was also in the vehicle escaped with minor injuries. Azeem said the moment she came out of anesthesia, Balqis asked about her infant boy Badr, her two colleagues and the bus driver who all died in the accident. "We did not tell her that they have all died out of fear for her health," the husband said. Azeem said he came back to Khamis Mushayat to be beside his wife after burying his son in Al-Ahsa on Thursday. Azeem and Balqis, who is 32 years old, have been married for 14 years. He said before the accident, they were talking to each other on WhatsApp and he ended the talk by praying that she would be transferred to a school of her choice, which is near their home. "Balqis is a noble woman who has deep love for her family, colleagues and the entire humanity. She has never made me angry during all these years," he said. Azeem said his wife used to donate part of her monthly salary to a poor family in Al-Ahsa. "We visit the family together to provide them with generous support but when she stayed in Al-Amwah, she would send the money to my bank account and I would deliver it to the poor family," he said. Azeem said the accident happened when a car deviated from its lane and collided with the vehicle carrying the teachers. When the accident took place, the three women teachers were on their way to their school in Al-Amwah after spending the weekend in their hometown of Al-Ahsa in the Eastern Province.
