Saudi Gazette report HAIL — A schoolteacher who commuted 90 kilometers daily between her home and workplace lost her life in a traffic accident on Thursday, Al-Hayat newspaper reported. After bidding farewell to her family on Thursday morning, 37-year-old Jamilah Al-Harbi left for her school, which is 45 kilometers away from Hail city. On her way back from school, the vehicle in which she and five other teachers were traveling in collided with a truck. Al-Harbi and the driver of the car died on the spot while the other five teachers sustained moderate to serious injuries. Al-Harbi lived near Eisa Al-Ali Mosque in Alwaseta'a neighborhood with her husband and two children, and she was one month pregnant with her third child. Her colleagues said all of them loved her presence at social gatherings as the pleasant smile on her captivated everyone who knew her. Her brother, Tarek, said Al-Harbi was always keen on helping the poor and donated a large part of her salary to charitable organizations. He said the driver's family should be attended to and provided with any assistance they may need. Deputy spokesman for Hail Health Affairs Directorate Mit'eb Al-Dhamadi said one of the injured teachers is in the intensive care unit while the others are in stable condition. Assistant Director of Education in Hail Naser Al-Rasheed offered his condolences to the bereaved families.
