The inauguration was well attended by Steve Graham, head of department of international trade at the British Embassy in Saudi Arabia, Hashim Alawadi, deputy co-chair of the Saudi British Joint Business Council and CEO of Tech Invest Com, key clients, in addition to Atkins' regional leadership — Grant Porter, chief executive officer (CEO) of Atkins in the Middle East and Africa; Adrian Lindon, Atkins managing director of design & engineering; Campbell Gray, Faithful+Gould managing director, Middle East, Johan Hesselsøe, Atkins acuity managing director, Middle East, Spencer Wylie, Faithful+Gould country director, KSA, and Nassib Al-Sibassi, director, Atkins Acuity.
"For half a century, we have helped our clients in Saudi Arabia deliver a multitude of iconic projects, and are proud to have been part of the Kingdom's transformation," said Porter. "The opening of our new office in Riyadh is a testament to our steadfast commitment to supporting the Kingdom's Vision 2030 by providing our world-class expertise and local knowledge, and investing in Saudi talent to lead the future."
Working together as a blended team of international, regional and local expertise, Atkins helped bring cutting edge ideas to life in the Kingdom; from large infrastructure projects such as the Riyadh Metro, to cultural destinations such as the Diriyah Gate development that is set next to At-Turaif District (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and also considered the birthplace of Saudi Arabia, all the way to providing integrated project and program management consultancy for lifestyle destinations such as the Avenues and Mall of Saudi shopping malls in Riyadh.
Saudi nationals have also contributed to different key projects across the company's offices in the Middle East and United Kingdom, including over 100 Saudi nationals working on major projects for the Saudi Arabian National Guard over a two-year period.
Located in Hamad Tower, King Fahd Road, Atkins' new office in Riyadh will provide clients with design, engineering and projects management services for projects across the property, infrastructure, transportation, water and defense markets.
