JEDDAH — TCF FSN Champions Trophy 2019 began at BMT Ground here with a colorful march-past by the 12 participating team members with their children holding flags and banners along with TCF kids. Chief guest Afsal Adiraja, regional manager of FSN hit the ball delivered by TCF President Shahanad to officially inaugurate the tournament. Adiraja was honored by TCF for his outstanding support toward TCF activities since 2009 and both Shahanad and general secretary Zafeel Backer presented a memento to him. Adiraja expressed his happiness for being the title sponsor for the 10th tournament and offered all support to TCF's future events. Backer, vice president Riyaz Abdulkader and chief coordinator Shamseer Oliyat introduced captains of participating teams, officials and TCF organizing team. Bupa Arabia won the Best Team award of the march past. Umpires Mirza Khashif and Ayazuddin Irfan handed over the trophy to Bupa Arabia captain Wassim. In the inaugural match debut team Nesma Airlines Cricket thrashed another debut team Tamer Cricket Club by 97 runs. After winning the toss and elected to bat first, Nesma scored 151-4 in the allotted 10 overs. Hassan registered the first fifty (66 in 31 balls) of the tournament. In reply, Tamer managed 58-6. Hasan took the 2 wickets and claimed the Man-of-the-Match award for his superb all-round performance. In second match, Young Star beat Bupa Arabia by 29 runs. Young Star 127-7. Bupa Arabia 94-4. Man of the Match: Amjad Inayath (18 runs and 2 wickets). Al-Max Cricket Club defeated Friday Stallions by 29 runs in the third match. Muhammed Shafran claimed the Man-of-the-Match award (26 runs and 2 wickets). In the thrilling match of the day, Royal Fighter Jeddah beat Timex KKR by 16 runs. Royal fighter scored 104-4 and restricted Timex KKR to 88-6. Saudi national player Shamsudheen fought till the last over making 44 for Timex KKR. Player of the Match: Muhammed Shamas of Royal Fighter (57 runs). Other results: Kayani Cricket Club beat Myown KPL XI by 55 runs. Kayani 126-9 (Israr 50 from 24 balls). Tuskers thrashed Hamenfaiz by 7 wickets. (Badsha 54 from 23 for Tuskers). Man of the Match: Shibu (first hat trick). The tournament trophy is named as TCF FSN Champions Trophy 2019. Ascensia, Bupa, Tamer, Abeer Umrah Services, Masum Logistics, Kool Dezign and Prime Express are the co-sponsors. The tournament is patronized by Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC) and ACC/ICC certified umpires panel is supervising the matches. TCF executive member Ajmal Nazeer anchored the opening ceremony.
