JEDDAH — The inaugural Bonny T20 Super League kicked off on a high note with wins for Hyderabad Sharks over Pepsi Deccan Knights, Jeddah Zalmi over Bonny, Saudi German Hospital over Ace Travel, Makkah Eagles over CH XI, coupled with fine all-round show by Omer Awan (103 runs and 5-25) and century by Ejaz (101) in opening week matches. The event is sponsored by Bonny and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA). Omer Awan's first century of the league — a superb 103 (56 balls, 4x15, 6x3) — and a fiery spell (5 for 25) enabled Saudi German Hospital to beat Ace Travel by 44 runs. Ejaz's big innings — a superb unbeaten 101 (51 balls, 4x7, 6x7) — was the highlight of Makkah Eagles 3-wicket win over CH XI despite Zafar's unbeaten knock of 72. Saddam's aggressive unbeaten 74 and Hussain's brisk 49 gave Hyderabad Sharks a solid 5-wicket win over Pepsi Deccan Knights despite good innings from Kashif (51) and Mazhar (49) along with quality bowling by Farook (4 for 42) ending up on losing side. Fine all-round show by Taqi (35 runs, 4 for 21) and good support from Raza (4 for 29) and Bilal (41 runs) gave Jeddah Zalmi a 3-wicket win over sponsors team Bonny.
