RIYADH — The Saudi TV program “Our Concerns” revealed sad stories of the victims of deviant and terrorist groups who used weapons to kill innocent Saudis. For the first time, sons and family members of martyrs who died defending the country and fighting terror were featured on Saudi television's Channel One. The program also hosted the father of a wanted man to speak about his pain and suffering. The father of martyr Muhammad Hassan Ali said his son was with him during Eid Al-Adha. He did not know this would be the last Eid he would see his son. His grandchild was only three months old when his son was killed in action. He said: “He went to work and was then engaged in a gun battle with one of the terrorists and killed. “Terrorists are criminals. They do not benefit themselves or the people or their country.” Ali's wife said before her husband left he said goodbye to everyone, not knowing that was the last time she would see him. She added: “He left for work and usually he comes around 6:30 a.m. He usually calls when he parks the car in front of the house. “I woke up and prayed Fajr and was worried because he was late. I called him and sent him messages and there was no answer.” The program interviewed Faisal Bin Lafi Al-Otaibi, the father of a wanted fugitive who was caught. He said his son used to display good conduct, was excellent at school and everyone was happy for him. “After he graduated from high school, we traveled to Riyadh to find a university for him. “He could not join any of the universities and at the end he was admitted at the communication college. “I noticed that he was religious, but I could not tell him not to pray at mosque or not shorten his dress. “I sat with my son all the time and it never came to my mind that he was lying to me. “I told him that he was my only son and I would depend a lot on him when I am old. I began to notice that his behavior was changing to the extreme. “One day I received a phone call from him and he told me he had been arrested in connection with terror offenses. “He said over the phone that he would be transferred to a police cell. “I was very angry with my son. I was so angry he lied to me that I did not speak to him or see him for a year.” The father said he cannot call his son but his son can call him once a month. He is allowed only two hours a month to visit his son. “At the end of the day, he is my son and I have to be there for him.” The father of Fahd Al-Hamandi, who was killed in action after confronting terrorists, said his son was kind to his family and good to his friends and neighbors. All of them were extremely sad after hearing news of his death. The father said: “Fahd was everything to me. He was very nice to me, his mother and brothers. “He was a soldier with the Border Guard and was 33 when he died in a clash with terrorists. “I was sad that my son was killed and was extremely angry when I learned that the killers were Saudis.” His mother said: “My husband delivered the bad news to me. He told me about his death when I was sitting at the table waiting for him to come for breakfast. “Last time I saw him was when he left for work at 9:30 p.m. We had our last dinner together. “We laughed a lot and he was happy. He left and I never saw him again.”
