Zain Anbar Okaz/Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — The District Court in Jeddah on Wednesday jailed an abusive husband for three days. The judge made his decision after reading a medical report submitted by the man's wife. The report showed that the wife had been beaten severely and she would need five days to recover. The wife took action against her husband after her husband physically abused her. The judge referred the case to the committee in charge of resolving marital disputes; however, the wife refused to back down on her demands and insisted that the husband be punished. She is also planning to file for divorce at Jeddah General Court. Sources within the District Court said around 350 violence cases involving husbands and wives have been examined so far this year.
