Tomas Berdych MARSEILLE, France — Top-seeded Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic cruised past Russian qualifier Dmitry Tursunov 6-2, 6-1 Saturday to reach the final of the Open 13. Berdych will seek his first title of the season against third-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who beat Gilles Simon 6-2, 6-2 in an all-French semifinal. Berdych led the Czech Republic to the David Cup title last year. On Friday Tsonga saved five match points in a breathtaking third set tiebreak to edge out Australian Bernard Tomic and qualify for the semifinals. Nishikori upsets Cilic In Memphis, top-seed Marin Cilic lost 6-2, 6-2 to Kei Nishikori of Japan in the quarterfinals Friday of the US National Indoor Tennis Championships. Nishikori's next opponent will be Australia's Marinko Matosevic who had a 6-7(6), 6-3, 6-4 win over No. 7 seed Alexandr Dolgopolov. Feliciano Lopez of Spain beat American Jack Sock 6-4, 6-3 and next plays Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan, a 6-4, 7-6 (5) winner over American Michael Russell. In women's play, Marina Erakovic of New Zealand defeated Stefanie Voegele of Switzerland, 6-2, 6-4 to return to the final of the US National Indoor Championships. Erakovic will play German Sabine Lisicki for the championship. Lisicki, ranked 40th, beat No. 7 seed Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia, 7-5, 7-5. Ferrer in semis In Argentina, defending champion David Ferrer advanced to the semifinals of the Copa Claro clay-court tournament Friday with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Fabio Fognini of Italy. The top-seeded Ferrer will face fellow Spaniard Tommy Robredo, who beat Julian Reister of Germany 6-3, 6-2.
