MAKKAH — Residents of Al-Sharaye land scheme in Makkah complained about the municipality's failure to deal with the waste problem and the swamps of drainage water. They said bad smells and the spread of insects that are a source of contagious diseases such as dengue fever made their lives miserable. Repeated complaints to the municipality were not fruitful, they said, claiming there are residents who have been infected with dengue fever. Many residents are seriously considering relocating to other areas. Mohammad Al-Morqi, director for cleaning at the municipality, said pesticides teams are continuing their campaign. He said the municipality is prepared to confront any emergency.
