Haifa Al-Zahrani Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Any website and Twitter, Facebook or YouTube account with inappropriate content will be blocked by the Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC), spokesman for CITC Sultan Al-Malek said. Al-Malek told Saudi Gazette that the commission monitors social networking sites and blocks any account with explicit and improper content. He said the CITC welcomes block requests at its Twitter account @CITC_SA, adding that the commission processes requests and takes action immediately. The spokesman for King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), Mansour Al-Otaibi, said KACST does not play any role in blocking websites. He, however, added that KACST helped in establishing the Internet infrastructure in the Kingdom and laying down pertinent regulations.
