JEDDAH — A 10-member African gang who robbed people as they left their banks with large amounts of money was nabbed in Jeddah following complaints from several bank clients. The gang members mainly targeted company representatives who came to withdraw huge sums. First Lt. Nawaf Al-Bouq, spokesman for Jeddah police, said criminal investigation officers started monitoring a location in the city center frequently targeted by the gang. Policemen found a man giving directions to his gang members while they were lingering around a bank in the area. The gang members were found following an Arab national who left the bank after withdrawing cash. When the man turned into a nearby service road carrying a paper folder, the gang members, unaware that they were monitored, attacked him and snatched the money. The policemen caught the men red-handed and returned the money to the Arab. Al-Bouq said all the gang members were from an African country.
