Saudi Gazette report YANBU – The Royal Commission at Yanbu has completed its preparations for the Seventh Flowers and Gardens Festival in Yanbu Al-Sinaia. The commission's director general of operation and maintenance and chairman of festival's organizing committee Yusuf Jayid Al-Hujaili said final preparations for the event have been completed. The festival, which starts today (Monday), will run until March 8. Al-Hujaili said the festival's inauguration ceremony would be held under the patronage of the commission's executive president Dr. Alauddin Abdullah Naseef. On behalf of Naseef, Al-Hujaili expressed thanks and appreciation to the companies sponsoring the festival. He also thanked the festival's organizing committees and support administrations for the care and support they provided. Al-Hujaili said the festival comprises various activities that suit all segments of society. These include cultural and awareness programs and contests for children and families. He said this festival reflects the commission's belief in the role such events play in beautifying the city, highlighting its architectural characteristics and developing aesthetic tastes in citizens and expatriates. It also contributes to raising environmental awareness by acquainting them with different plants and flowers, their types and benefits, he said. It also enlightens the public on how to care for them, as well as displaying agricultural products and home garden requirements.
