Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH — A decades-old cemetery in Qunfudah in the southwest of the Kingdom is exposed to stray dogs and other animals that dig up remains of bodies from the graves. Miteb Al-Mahabi, member of the Jurisprudence Committee at Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University, said citizens of Sahel Al-Mahab village in Qunfudah governorate have previously complained to the municipality and asked it to fence off the cemetery to protect it from stray animals. A committee inspected the cemetery, but no action was taken. Al-Mahabi said the sanctity of the graves is being violated daily by drivers who unknowingly drive through the cemetery. Citizens have complained to the Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Alsheikh to intervene and protect the sanctity of the dead. He in turn instructed the head of Qunfudah courts to inspect the cemetery and submit his recommendations.
