Panasonic, a leading electronics manufacturer in the region, has introduced a host of energy-efficient products at the region's first HVAC Confex 2013. Panasonic has unveiled the world's first world's first tropical inverter air conditioners. This is world's first technology that claims to use 30 percent less power than standard AC units and recovery ventilation systems. The new range of air conditioners comes with the smart inverter compressor, which are powerful, fast and extremely energy efficient. With searing temperatures in the region, the new technology has made it possible for an 18000 Btu air conditioner to reach up to 22000 Btu, and a 24000 Btu model to reach up to 27000 Btu, based on the requirements resulting in faster cooling. Furthermore, the new technology precisely manages the speed of the compressor, resulting in up to 30 percent less energy consumption compared to a non inverter model. Norihiro Ohara, General Manager, Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa (PMMAF), Saudi Arabia Office, said “we are confident that this eco-friendly energy saving products will significantly appeal to the consumers in the Kingdom. As much as 70 percent of electricity consumption in Saudi Arabia goes on air conditioning, with summer peak loads accounting for 3-gigawatts of power alone each year. And with more than 1.5 million new homes required to keep pace with population growth, domestic energy demand is anticipated to double by 2030. We are positive that with this product, we are deemed to bring in a change and educate people on the importance of sustainable energy management". These new air conditioners run on minimal power with precise temperature control. By reducing wasteful cooling operation, Inverter Series can achieve up to 50 percent less energy usage compared to the non-inverter units. In addition to energy savings, the Intelligent Inverter Technology also delivers constant comfort with wide power output range and quick cooling during the start up period. – SG
