RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Tuesday executed one its nationals convicted of murder as well as a Syrian convicted of smuggling drugs into the Kingdom, the Interior Ministry announced. Mohammed Al-Qahtani shot dead fellow national Mueed Al-Qahtani in a fight, the ministry said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). He was executed in the southwestern Asir province. In a separate case, Nabil Abu Khanjar, a Syrian, was executed in the northern Al-Jouf province after he was convicted of smuggling “large amounts of amphetamines,” SPA reported.
