GE Healthcare demonstrated its commitment to clinical innovation by highlighting a variety of technologies developed to meet the diverse needs of patients and clinicians across care areas at the recently three-day Arab Health 2013 conference in Dubai. Innovations featured at GE Healthcare's booth included those designed to translate in both high and low resource settings and throughout the hospital, from the operating room and intensive care unit to specialty areas such as the cardiac care unit and neonatal intensive care unit. At Arab Health 2013, GE Healthcare also highlighted innovations in anesthesia delivery including its recently-launched Carestation 301 anesthesia delivery system featuring an integrated SpO2 measurement (the level of oxygen in the blood), designed for the needs in African and other for the emerging markets. Additionally, GE Healthcare showcased the Avance CS2 (2) anesthesia delivery system with new ecoFLOW technology, which helps skilled clinicians identify unnecessarily high fresh gas flow rates to assist clinicians in maintaining their desired oxygen concentration. If gas flows are turned down, this can potentially translate into reduced anesthetic costs and environmental impact. “Arab Health presented a great opportunity for those committed to improving the delivery of healthcare to come together and discuss the latest advancements,” said Mazen Dalati, General Manager for GE Healthcare's Life Care Solutions business in the Middle East, Africa, Russia, CIS, Turkey and Central Asia. GE Healthcare also presented its diagnostic cardiology equipment designed to address the specific needs around cardiac care and cardiovascular disease, a major health problem throughout the Middle East. From the MAC 5500HD with advanced disease management capabilities and workflows to the MAC 800, which provides clinicians with portable, advanced ECG technology, GE Healthcare has ECG solutions for clinicians in nearly every care setting. – SG
