TRIPOLI — A bomb exploded at a Benghazi police station around 2 a.m. early Thursday morning. The explosion, at Al-Birkah police station, was loud enough to wake up people in the nearby Fuwaihat and Hawari districts. However, there were no casualties and no major damage has been reported. The bomb went off at the back of the police building. No one has claimed responsibility for what is the latest in a long string of attacks against security in the city that has seen officials murdered and buildings attacked. On January 16, a police officer was killed when a bomb exploded underneath his vehicle. Two days earlier another policeman died when a bomb was thrown at his vehicle. At the beginning of the month, the city's CID chief Nasser Al-Moghrabi was abducted and murdered. — Libya Herald
