BENGHAZI — Another police officer has been murdered in Benghazi. Salah Muftah Al-Wazri, a member of the National Security Directorate, was killed when a bomb exploded underneath his vehicle. The incident happened Tuesday night outside his home in the city's Al-Laithi district. It is reported that the dead man was working before the revolution guarding oil installations. There has been a spate of killings of security officials in Bengahzi, most of whom worked under the former regime. The killing comes a day after police officer Jamal Khalil was killed in Kish district when a bomb was thrown under another police vehicle. Two other police officials were wounded in the incident. The police say they have apprehended three youths in connection with the latter attack and that it was not part of any coordinated campaign against them. The youths were reportedly under the influence of drugs. — Libya Herald
