JEDDAH – The Board of Directors of National Commercial Bank (NCB) has appointed Saeed Bin Mohammed Al-Ghamdi as the new Chief Executive Officer of the bank effective Jan. 3, 2013, following the resignation of the former CEO Abdulkareem Abu Alnasr due to “personal circumstances”, the bank said in a statement Tuesday. Al-Ghamdi is one of the talented bankers who is known in the banking circles. He began his career as a computer engineer in the Ministry of Defense and Aviation and then became the Chief Information Officer in Al Rajhi Bank, then the chief operating officer, then the General Manager of the Retail Banking Group and then the Executive Vice President where he managed private banking, corporate and treasury, as well as human resources and credit risk and operations. He also headed the team who founded Al Rajhi Bank in Malaysia and the bank's branch in Kuwait and Jordan; and during his work at Al Rajhi Bank he was a board member for Al Rajhi Bank, Malaysia, Al Rajhi Capital and Al Rajhi Takaful. Al-Ghamdi has been working in banking advisory business since March 2012, where he worked as an adviser to the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, and the National Commercial Bank. He holds a bachelor's degree in Science and Computer Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. — SG
