JEDDAH — Al-Abeer ACC-A defeated Nadec Blue Star-A 1-0 in the final of the Nadec-Blue Star Soccerfest and bagged the Nadec Cup here Thursday. The only goal of the match was scored by P.R. Saheer off a penalty kick in the 5th minute of the match. Host Blue Star, which stood runner-up, claimed the Al-Abeer Trophy. The championship, which was organized by Blue Star Club, was mainly sponsored by Nadec. The co-sponsors were Al-Abeer Medical Group, Emami Fair and Handsome and Regal Mall. Chances were galore in the final match, which saw the marksmen repeatedly bungling to hit the target. Blue Star goalkeeper Mohammed Shafi, who made some good saves, won the Player-of-the-Match award.
