Mishal Al-Otaibi Saudi Gazette RIYADH – Twenty-five Saudis incarcerated at Al-Taji Prison have called upon Iraqi authorities to transfer them to Sousa Prison after being beaten and insulted by Iraqi inmates. Majed Al-Ghamdi, an inmate in Sousa Prison, said 25 Saudi prisoners called him from inside the Al-Taji Prison and said they were being mistreated because of their nationality. The prisoners demanded that they be returned to the Sousa Prison after Iraqi prison authorities transferred them to the Al-Taji Prison two months ago, he said. The prisoners said Iraqi prison authorities have ignored their demands, according to Al-Ghamdi who has spent almost ten years of his 15-year sentence for illegally crossing the border into Iraq.
